Lot 2946
Constantine I, 307/310-337. Follis (Bronze, 18 mm, 1.47 g, 6 h), a contemporary imitation of an issue from Ticinum. Irregular mint, after 320. CONSTΛNTINVS ΛG Diademed head of Constantine I to right. Rev. D N CONSTΛNTINI MΑX G / T T around wreath containing VOT / XX in two lines. Cf. RIC 140 (for prototype). Minor weakness, otherwise, about extremely fine.

From the collection of Dr. L. Ramskold, privately acquired from Spink on 2 September 1999.

The style of this coin is clearly unofficial, indicating that it is a contemporary 'barbarous' imitation. It copies Ticinum RIC 140, but with several legend errors.
